agreed, if organised right, with some more appropriate tactics, a bit more possession based, and a manager that gives them confidence then we could climb the table....I just don't think warnock has it in him to achieve that.

bar the top 3 this is a very poor league. We have a couple of players that played champs league last year, players brought through some top notch academies, and players that have achieved promotion at this level. We have some honest hard working players too. We have enough to make 6th, 5th at a push, not higher though, even with a better manager. We certainly have a squad that should be able to beat top half teams occasionally rather than only bottom half teams.
 
We are not a top six side. Unless this is a particularly awful season.
Whoever goes up through the play offs will be cannon fodder in that case.

well I 'm not ready to call that one out on you just yet........I was saving it until we get battered by West Brom, then I'll say "this aged well" ;)

But just for the record, we haven't beaten a single side above us in the table this season, the best team we have beaten are 15th...yet we've still only got 4 points against the bottom 3 sides .

6 games against top half teams this season zero wins

5 wins in 31 top half championship sides in his whole Boro management career, it's shocking, how much more do we have to take?!

Enough already, show him the door, we're going nowhere with him except back into bottom half mediocrity
 
I’ve said it many times but we regularly lose out in our midfield 3 torte opposition. While Jonny Howson continues to pull on a shirt and the armband this team will go nowhere, the lad has been poor overall since monk signed him, the last said about tav and crooks tonight the better too, central midfield still needs sorting, oh what I’d give for a mustoe, ince or boateng in there now

Always said it, he's ineffective playing in midfield. Game passed him by last night.

It's bizarre considering we signed him as a midfielder, but for some reason he's generally performed better in defence whilst he's been at the club.
 
Look at it this way, Warnock is finishing this season and that's it.
We have a really good player in Sporar who, if we had a decent season, could well sign on permanently.
If we persist as we are then the chances of Sporar wanting to stay are going to be diminished significantly.
If we want even a slim chance of getting to the PL we need more players like Sporar, at this moment in time we don't look very attractive to anyone.
 
Must admit I don't see us as a top six side either. Said 12th-10th before the season started and don't see anything to suggest otherwise as yet.

There's three very good sides in this division who (regardless of makes up the other three playoff berths) will probably go up. Anyone else can beat anyone else.

That said, if we've identified the next manager (and I'd be surprised if we haven't) it might be worth an appointment in time for the January window.

It could be the spark to knock on for the play offs but it's unlikely in my opinion. Whoever comes in probably needs three seasons to get us challenging.

By January we will be firmly mid table with no prospect of the play offs or relegation. There would be no need to buy any players and pointless.

Might as well limp on to the Summer with him and get a new manager in then. Therefore we don’t need to pay Warnock any compensation.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. His quotes from yesterday's Gazette.

“I suppose it is difficult at the minute because they might be looking at not bringing too many that Neil Warnock wants when they’ve got to look longer term for the club," he conceded.

“So it’s a matter of helping me at the same time as looking to the future.

“We wanted to sign Peltier and Bamba and people like them because we didn’t think the squad was big enough and these guys have proven invaluable.

“I still think there is a place for getting players from England, but there are good players from abroad which the recruitment team are looking at.
