Just had a read of the blades forum

Think there's a bit of both if I'm honest but I'd say the result was probably 70% us being brilliant and 30% blades being underpar. Only Burnley would have given us a game based on that performance last night.

Did sheff utd have an off night because they just did or did we force them into it. Were they poor or were we outstanding.

We forced them into it and we were outstanding.

They were all over us in the first 5-10 mins, after that we composed ourselves and took the game by the scruff of the neck. We didn't allow them to play like they wanted to. It looked like we were playing with an extra man, they were chasing shadows.

No push overs in the Championship and we need to get revenge for our 3-2 defeat @ QPR in August.

QPR @ half time was the release of the Akpom MarkII - big difference when he came on.
Yes we murdered them second half at Loftus road, could easily have won 4-3, should have really.

We can't take them for granted though, we have to be untypical boro on Saturday and beat the lowly side to seal the advantage of winning at Bramall Lane last night

Perhaps, in their manager's pre-match media assessment of Boro, filled his team with too great a confidence that simply wasn't visible on the pitch. Let's not take anything away from Boro, that win last night was tremendous against a top two side who played to the best of their ability and were second best all over the park. I don't go along with the Blades having "an off night".

They were outstanding in the first 10 mins, we weathered that and then blew them away i felt. They looked dangerous when they attacked as they've got some talented footballers but when we went ahead i never felt we wouldn't go on and win the game. The fact we didn't just sit back and we kept playing our game, attacking and getting the third goal is massive for how confident we are and how the players are all together under Carricks vision. It's a truly excellent run of form and time to watch the team, loving every second and Saturday cant come quick enough.

They weren't that bad, but clearly pegged back a fair bit by us, from what they normally do at home anyway. They still had a lot of big chances, which they fluffed (Steffen and defence did well) and were missing Sharp.

We put our chances away, and had a bit of luck with the second.

They mauled Burnley and prior to last night they and Burnley were the best two home teams in the league.

I wonder if the Sunderland game would have gone the same way had the ref awarded the penalty and not the red card?

"Boro went down every time and half our team were booked ... it makes it easier for them to play trough us if you've got 3 defenders who know they can't touch you or they're off"

'Drunk Blade seems really apt, he must have been blind drunk last night.

I like to think if it was role reversed and they beat us, but we were 2nd with a big points advantage a game in hand, i'd lick my wounds quietly and be confident in my team being able to get over the line... then again, it would be Boro and i'd be waiting for Akpom to revert back to his previous form, Hackney to turn back into who Wilder thought he was etc...

He must have been drunk because they only had 1 defender on a yellow and that was after 65 mins. The other two yellwos were strikers on 75 and 86 mins

I'd like to rewatch some of his first season performances, I always felt people were being a bit harsh and judging him purely on not enough goals. He did get bullied a bit at CF, but then Warnock was asking for the ball to be launched long to him. When he got the ball to feet, I seem to remember he showed some flashes of good technical ability and he worked hard regardless. He was a victim of Warnock-ball and Wilder-arrogance.
