We would like you to know that several neighbours have come together to support anyone who needs help during the covid19 outbreak.

Help could include

Shopping
Collecting medicine
Phone call to reduce isolation
Walking dogs etc.

Gives contact details and so on.

There are loads of selfish people in this country. They are far outweighed by decent folk.

Those who get the virus and recover (with immunity) are going to be key to keeping the country 'going'.

happening here too ... disturbingly I was asked if I needed help! I thought I was one of the helpers!!!

I was asked if I knew what WhatsApp was as they want to use that for us oldies who are able.

It is heartening after witnessing "end of days" in the local Sainsbury's.

A similar thing is happening in Pickering and I suspect many other communities. Luckily there are still many people willing to help those less fortunate.

Look at this forum as part of your community and if you need help just ask, shopping, errands, that kind of thing, I’m more than willing to muck in and do my bit especially in the Redcar/Marske area, it’s no problem and if I can’t help I’m certain there will be people on here who will.

Adversity unites and after the last few years of division and polemic the one good thing that might come of this is that a certain sense of community and neighbourhood is restored.

Veery true, some wonderful people show their true colours in the face of adversity but unfortunatly the selfish people make the bigger noice

Absolutely wonderful. I saw a letter yesterday from Ben Houchen posted on twitter where you could register an interest in offering your services as a volunteer which I did. Also you could forward your contact details to the red cross who are also appealing for volunteers. and they now have my email address. Not sure what capacity they would use me but I am very much up for helping if needed.
The horrible converse of this is I have seen reports from Age UK and the Red Cross today of individuals purporting to represent these organisations contacting and even doorstepping people and offering coronavirus tests.........at a price of course. Absolute scum.
