Just drove past a packed Preston Park

And it’s not against any rules to drive your car to a park, park it in the car park and go and use the park. If it were against the rules to drive there the car park would not be available. The park and its car park is open for a reason and most people would feel it is perfectly reasonable that it is. You also pointed out that people were not wearing masks when there is no requirement for them to do so.
I’m certainly not wishing to sound sanctimonious , but we were expressly urged to ride this out a bit longer . A bit of self discipline is needed , as just because I can do it ( go to the park/beach ) doesn’t mean I should .

Id love nothing more to see it packed but my concern is falling just before the finish line and suffering another lockdown . Remember this is data governed not date governed .
It would certainly be a very high cost to pay just to go and get an ice cream 🍦

Yeah. Not told to keep us and our cars out of parks though. Probably because it’s not dangerous to drive to a park and go for a walk.

There maybe some on here who for what ever reason have an issue with people driving to parks for exercise - they're wrong and you're vehement in stating your points and that's absolutely fine with me no issues at all but what's your view on all the people who are not complying with the rules? ie not socially distancing, ie meeting up with people outside of their social bubbles, people driving from say Stockton to Redcar for exercise - will you admit that they are in the wrong?

Well if you’ve got Ropner park on your doorstep there’s no need to go to Redcar . I’ve no problem with that though in all honesty I’ve no idea what harm they will do to others by simply walking down Redcar beach getting in their motor and going home.

By the letter of the law, you are correct.

Why is going to the park a part of inadvertent behaviour?
It's not Jim, but I'm sure it'll just be part of some people's daily behaviour that unwittingly increases the chance of infection.
For me, I'd have seen the good weather and thought 'the popular places will be teeming' so I'd have avoided them. Obviously circumstance might give some people no other option, but there will be a proportion for whom the thought that lots of others would have the same idea would never cross their mind. On that note I'd say it falls under the unthinking section that I also pointed out in my post.

And this is exactly the point, people are going because they can, regardless of whether they should when they see the scene that awaits them, they can’t see beyond the rule.

You maybe right about what harm it does but you're saying that you're happy that people ignore the laws and make their own minds up.

Also you still seem unwilling to comment on people who don't comply with the laws wrt social distancing or who they meet?

I’m fine with social distancing and people should meet who they are allowed to meet under the current rules.
As for ignoring laws and making up their own minds I said above that there’s no reason to travel from Stockton to Redcar for exercise. I’m simply of the opinion that if you did break that rule and simply drove to Redcar, walked down the beach and drove home that your likelihood of spreading or catching covoid is virtually non existent. But thems the rules.

Drove past cod beck last weekend , they was police in both car parks talking to people, maybe asking how far they have travelled?
For me the problem was all the cars badly parked along the road, nightmare to get through

Then driving shouldn't be a problem if you're staying within your 'bubble' and safe distancing when you get there?

Not everybody has a beach or park within easy reach of their doorstep.

The problems are going to arise when indoor businesses open again and allow overcrowding to happen. That's when we'll see how successful the vaccine has been.

So you accept that people that are not following social distancing and meeting people that they shouldn't be are breaking the law and presumably would condemn them for doing so or are you happy that they do that because you don't believe its going to cause a problem?

Gvmt shouldn't give us dates in advance, ie road map as people see it as Carte Blanche to please themselves. It's the same in Darlo. Nobody cares. Meanwhile the NHS staff are burnt out.

Not so enjoyable was the post unequivocally stating that older people should be grateful to the younger generation for the sacrifices made to protect them. The smelliest crock of **** in a long time.
Aye was a strange one.

The facebook and twitter folks taking photos of people out and about and calling them all sorts is quite funny too, considering they are also out in the same places 😏

The law is the law. Some make more sense than others and the day I condemn anyone for driving to a beach, going for a walk and driving straight home is the day I’ve taken leave of my senses quite frankly.

But that wasn't what I asked and what you keep avoiding! Do you condemn people for not socially distancing and meeting up with people they shouldn't?

Jim I’m certainly not saying theres anything wrong with that scenario detailed above . My concern is people electing not to be that thoughtful but families shoe horning themselves into areas where learned scientists are saying it’s dangerous such as car parks and refreshment areas .
