Just been shopping for first time since lock-down

So much better than before!

Yes, I had to queue for half an hour to get in to the supermarket but once in only about a quarter the people as usual, nobody blocking the aisles yacking to each other and hardly any wait for the checkout. Bog roll aplenty. Even some pasta.

Downside: no deli, cooked chicken, tissues, soap or flour.

On balance it might be worth it! :D
 
Well I won’t be venturing in Tesco again any time soon - I forgot a couple of things on the way round an when I got to the till an asked to back round again they said no I couldn’t !

They were fine a Coulby TESCO yesterday letting us wander, there was sort of 1 way system but you could still go back.
 
I was at tesco this morning and they had a right brain fart moment.
They had altered their whole operation overnight with a view to ensuring correct social distancing; a minimum of two metres.
Unfortunately two (be polite) young men outside hadn't quite grasped the concept. They were forcing people to stand exactly two metres apart, not 2.5, 3 or more, it was exactly two metres, or the length of a shelf stackers trolley on it's side. It looked so so wrong.
He asked me politely to move closer to the lady in front so I refused, he insisted so I did but when she moved forward I just stood still and managed to steal an extra two metres.
I was going to contact Tesco but when I came out someone had come to there senses and the madness was past.
 
Glad you had a better experience than mine earlier in the week, groups of up to 4, people talking in the aisles and not respecting social distancing I even had someone lean across me whilst buying butter, people disregarding the one way system and the queue for the checkouts was between freezer and beer aisle with workers restocking the aisle at the same time so very little room I wasn’t impressed and am glad I shouldn’t have to venture out for a week or so.
 
I've just got home after 21 days at sea so was sheltered from it mostly. Tesco is Billingham was well organised. Although I still found it difficult sticking to one way! I usually zig zag all over the place!
 
Sainsburys in Stockton was nicely set up. Security on the door letting a few at a time through the door with no problems. Yellow dots around the pavement outside 2m apart with everyone moving along to the next spot. No system in the aisles but repeated requests over the tannoy to keep your distance. It all worked well and was quite relaxing in a way.
 
I went to Tesco this afternoon and there was a queue all the way around the carpark.

Phhok that. So I went again at 7pm and had the place pretty much to myself :cool:

this works, i havent been to a supermarket before 3 pm for over a month, mainly because i dont like queuing, only thing ive struggled to get is liquid soap, was hoping for some beef shin yesterday alas there was none so got some chicken instead
 
Thought so as it was eerily similar to my experience on the weekly shop in there this morning :)

I did let my social distancing guard slip today, I hugged the 9 rolls of Cushelle loo roll that I managed to get in there.
