Juninhooooooo

one of the great stories of Brasil is that the Portuguese already knew it was here. After Columbus a line was drawn South with the Spanish getting everything to the west, the Portuguese to the East. In 1499 the Portuguese went to the pope (the broker of the deal) and said "come on, it will be like the Indies, all water. Can you move the line west?" The Spanish agreed, "who cares? more ocean for the dumb Portuguese ". In 1500 the Portuguese mysteriously "discovered" Brasil. Brasilians love this story because it shows 2 things. 1. The Spanish (aka Argentinos) are stupid. 2. South America would be nothing w/o Brasil.
