On a few days hols, original plans for today fell through so I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. Utterly hooked!!! Just binged 5 episodes in a row. I forgot it was dubbed into English at times.

Don’t watch it dubbed loses the effect

I bing watched it over the weekend.

I thought it was alright. It did take me 3 nights to watch them all so definitely didn't 'binge' by my standards.

The hype on social media is a bit much. It's apparently the most watched thing in recent years (or ever?)

I just say 'it's alright' if anyone asks😂

Yes, I’m hooked as well. Watched four episodes today. One thing though: do Koreans really say ‘gosh’, ‘my goodness’ and ‘darn’ all the time? I’m trying not to be irritated by it!

It’s great, I did it in three days. Couldn’t explain why but it had me hooked, think it was some kind of morbid curiosity to see what the next game would be.

Same! Watched 5 today and will finish tomorrow. I couldn't get away with the dub (never can), you quickly slip into the subs like they're not even there though.

Been a fun ride so far.

They say 'shibal' a lot mate. Kind of an all purpose expletive. I'm guessing that's the word that's being translated to 'gosh' or 'damn' but it's a bit ruder than those terms in Korean.

Thought it might be something like that. Although pisz appears in the subs so not sure why more realistic terms can’t be used. Anyway, I shall rise above it now I know 😊

Yes I was the same

did you there was little to no cgi involved they really did build those sets to scale in that doll that was borrowed from a local
Museum.

Are you using the fixed subs or the closed caption ones?
I saw something online from a native Korean speaker that the Cc's are way off and spoil the context of the dialogue.
I finished it yesterday and I have to say I loved it. It had a great blend of story, characters and a morbidly dark sense of humour.
There were enough unanswered questions for a second series, but if that is it then you can be more than happy that the story has been told.

Yes I noticed the CC had every noise ie door opens care revs etc so I change to regular eng.

Had to stop myself from watching the final two episodes just now as it would take me well beyond my bedtime 😅 I have a feeling I know who the main dude in the black is, but could be miles off.

Nah, I bet you're right. It's painfully predictable (and deeply unrealistic). I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but I made four predictions for twists in the final couple of episodes and they were all correct.

It was ok, watchable, but not Netflix's greatest.

Not up there with Breaking Bad, Saul, Ozark, Dark, First few seasons of Narcos, Kingdom, etc.

Saying that, episode 6 "Gganbu" got me emotional - that was good.
It was OK, some good bits. Especially Red, Light Green Light but a bit dull mostly but not a big fan of your suggestions apart form BB & Ozark obviously.

I felt a bit bandwagon-ny for Squid Game, and it didn't perform for me. Ok, but no great
