The negative side of me reckons this is just a media ploy to keep people happy before they are ultimately disappointed when July 5th comes and goes.

The positive side of me sees the news reports that Hancock yet again lied, only this time to the leader of the country, that the vaccination progress wasn't as good as it actually is so the PM might indeed stick to his word and review the data and let the people of this great country get on with the their lives and get on with building the economy back up.

Nah who am I kidding, Whitty has the final say obviously and he'll keep measures in place until next year.
 
This seems to change in line with our chances of progressing in the Euros.

England beat Croatia - Restriction lifting delayed
England draw with Scotland - Restrictions might be lifted earlier
England qualify from group - Restrictions held tightly until after the final
England lose and don't get out of group - All restrictions lifted and the country goes back to pre-covid days.
