Judy Dyble has died

RIP.

Slightly before my time. My older brother had Fairport Convention albums starting with what we did on our holidays

She was on the first Fairport album. Sandy Denny was on the second - What We Did . . . . . .
Yep. I looked it up. I only remembered Sandy Denny.

If I remember rightly a couple of the other band members backed Chris Rea at one point.

They were a band of wandering minstrels with a lot of changes over 50 years! Iain Mathew was also on the first album and went on to form Matthews Southern comfort. Richard Thompson recorded with Linda Thompson and then on his own. Ashley Hutchings was a talented guitarist who went on to Steeleye Span. Trevor Lucas (Eclection) joined then left having married Sandy Denny (both have since died). They initially formed Fotheringhay.

Fairport Convention didn't back Chris Rea, but four of the group did play on Al Stewart's LP Love Chronicles under pseudonyms between Unhalfbricking and Liege and Lief.

RIP Julie

Interesting. I said a couple of.... Simon Nicol and Dave Mattacks worked and toured with Chris Rea.

Yep. I bought albums by a lot of those people and bands. Never saw any of them live though.

What I did not know at the time was how big a part drugs played in the lives of some of them.
