Joshua Usyk

The one where you said:

“No outcome would shock me at all, I’ve just got this feeling that Usyk beats him and by stoppage somewhere around the 9th.”

Of course no outcome would shock me, it’s heavyweight boxing

But you’re going to say my paragraphs of spot on analysis isn’t worth much because of one sentence that basically says anything can happen in boxing, as we all know ?

🤣

Credit where is due - you said Uysk would win.

But of course everyone knew the two most likely outcomes would be either Uysk using his superior boxing skills / movement etc to get the win or Joshua using his superior power.

Admittedly you’ve mentioned Uysk superior movement (again everyone knows that), and you’ve reference Joshua struggling with fighters with superior movement, referencing the Parker fight (again everyone knows that).

But ultimately mate anyone who bothered to write several lengthy posts would post some accurate analysis. Which I haven’t got a problem with.

The bit that I found funny was your post fight comments dating you had called everything exactly correct and you were absolutely sure about it and could t see how anyone could think differently, when in reality you said you’d thought Uysk would win (correct), by knockout (incorrect) but also AJ could win (so you obviously weren’t that certain).

Hired Guns breakdown was absolutely superb to be fair, to pick holes in it is a bit ridiculous.

Much better than people saying AJ is the best of his era and he’s potentially a top 10 heavyweight of all time.

The reality is that wether warranted or not AJ has the reputation as a closeted fighter that picks gimmes to boost his name and keep his belts as long as possible while avoiding he risky fights.

He was supposed to go to America and storm yet another (easy on paper) hand picked opponent to launch him into the big time to a largely sceptical us boxing crowd and their pay per view markets.

But well it didn’t quite happen that way he left with his tail between his legs and now any talk of big us fight nights seem a long way off.

so finally when he does take a Real fight he gets shown up despite all the hype all the razzmatazz he lost… again.

so what now.

There’s plenty on here who have rated Usyk for years, well before the Bellew fight, luckily they don’t all need to blow their own trumpet.

Its good to read someone break a fight down on here and sound like its someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

I'm probably no expert but I've watched hundreds if not thousands of fights and feel like I've got a reasonable understanding of the game. You read some absolute ridiculous posts on here when the boxing discussions start and realise some of the comments come from people who barely watch the sport.

Some of the stuff about AJ being an all time great on here over the last few years have been ridiculous.

People talk about the great heavyweights from past generations not being able to compete with the current generation of giants. I think last night showed that Joshua would have struggled with some the 'little men' of the past.

That was comprehensive, I don’t think we’ll ever see AJ and TF in the ring now.

Fury will fight Usyk to unify after besting Wilder then retire I’d guess.

Wilder-AJ would be a good fight, think AJ would win.

His pre fight analysis was definitely good, however saying Uysk is the better boxer with better movement etc and that AJ struggled against boxers with better movement etc as he did against Parker etc was hardly groundbreaking analysis. But again I have no problem with that.

What I found funny was his self congratulatory back slapping after the fight stating that he had got everything correct and couldn’t see any other result when in fact he’d predicted Uysk to stop Joshua and said he wouldn’t be surprised to see AJ knock Uysk out.

Last night he stated “No idea why anybody thought Joshua could win this fight”.

When his first two posts stated:

“Of course, we haven’t seen Usyk take a shot from a good puncher at heavyweight. It only takes one shot by any heavyweight in the right spot.”

“No outcome would shock me at all”.

Lewis,Ruddock, Bowe, Holyfield and maybe big George would stop him, so would a peak Mike Tyson.

Just checked the us news sources and the only mention ( none on nbc or abc) of the fight at all is in USA today and we’ll..

Of course no outcome would shock me, I’ve seen enough world class boxing matches to know there’s no certainty

Also, if I said I don’t know why I thought anyone felt AJ would win, I was meant to write “everyone” - And it was more just a general figure of speech that I don’t know why everybody was so confident of the AJ win, because I felt he had a pretty slim chance.

I think you’re being a bit pedantic, especially when I put paragraphs of detailed technical opinions of why I felt Usyk wins and that’s how it played out.

But it’s ok, You wrongly predicted the fight and seem a bit angry about it for some reason, but it’s only boxing , it’s not that important

Ahh so you meant everybody instead of anybody. You’re good at changing what you meant after you’ve written it.

Again I haven’t got an issue with your pre fight analysis, it was good! It’s the fact that you’ve been making out your the 2nd coming of Angelo Dundee since the fight. You’ve even done the old “I could have made it if it wasn’t for injury”.

You’re right I did incorrectly predict the fight, but as Uysk never stopped AJ, so did you.

It’s all good, some nice debates on here generally rather than the usual Joshua or Fury nonsense and people getting frustrated they can’t convince someone else their opinion is more valid.

Hw do you see the Canelo Plant fight going.?

Hw do you see the Canelo Plant fight going.?

Canelo win, either wide points or mid to late stoppage

Plant is a good fighter, nice tidy boxer but I think it’s just a case of levels. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it go 12, although Canelo is a super sharp puncher, I don’t think he’s necessarily a huge puncher. He did cause damage to Saunders’ eye but that was just a freak shot in the perfect spot that might not happen 99 times out of 100. He never really looked like putting Saunders on the floor, same as with Callum Smith, Jacobs, Cotto and plenty of others he fought. So it wouldn’t surprise me if Plant could survive the 12, but it’ll be more of a survival mode. He would be probably tricky enough to survive if he shows no ambition to win after he realises the levels.

Plant’s fight with Uzcategui showed me with enough pressure, he could probably be worn down late and maybe stopped, even though he won that fight with his early work.

So Canelo by stoppage after 8 if Plant shows ambition , otherwise a very wide points win for Canelo if Plant only wants to survive.

That’s an easier one to call.

BJS seemed to bend into that punch, a freak punch in a way.
