Josh Coburn to Bristol Rovers

Really?! He once won a call up for England and so annoyed the rest of the squad he never got picked again. His only redeeming feature is his love of The Smiths!

Again - look what he’s doing in management. Football isn’t a game of saints. By all accounts from interviews with players since he left, Karanka was an absolutely head the ball, yet he was a resounding success here.

Karanka doesn’t have two criminal convictions for common assault and affray and assault occasioning actually bodily harm on his track record, or a spell in prison, or three separate FA charges for violent conduct, never stubbed out a cigar in a teammate’s eye, wasn’t sent him from a pre-season tour for assaulting a teenage supporter, or have a litany of seriously dangerous tackles(assaults, let’s face it) under his belt, has no accusations of racism made against him, was never called a ‘coward’ by any of his managers, has never dished out homophobic abuse to opposition players, or head-butted an opponent, or had to be dragged off the field by three of his own teammates after assaulting three opposition players in quick succession, or made questionable comments about a player on Twitter leaving to a two match suspension, or had a transfer cancelled because of supporters’ complaints, or been suspended and then sacked three months into a two-year deal for a training ground altercation, or banned for 18 months for gambling, or charged with causing actual bodily harm after an altercation with an opposition manager, or charged with assaulting a woman during a drunken row at home(trial due in October of this year).

Apart from that, they’re pretty much the same.

In terms of managerial record, yes they are. He’s not employed to be a role model, he’s employed to be a football manager. That’s all I’m saying.

You lot love to overreact.

I'd have kept him. To think Hoppe has been thrown into the U23s.

His stats back up better than some of the forwards we have. Whilst i get we need to balance the books etc.

It's hardly worth it if we don't rate Hoppe and Forss.

It's worth it for his development.

He's young and playing consistently in League One will be better for his career than occasionally coming off the bench here, it'll also be better for us as he'll probably come back a more rounded player.

Elliott Anderson at Newcastle, who has looked impressive when I've seen him this season, had a successful loan at Bristol rovers last season. Seems to have worked for him

Great move for the lad. Hope it goes well for him and he scores a few goals, I happen to think he will.
Barton is not everyone’s cup of tea but he might give the lad a bit of edge.

Barton has proven time and time again that he is an awful human. It saddens me that he's actually got a full time role within football. Don't care how good of a manager he is/can be/will be, he's an absolute sh1tstain of a person.
One of my highlights as a Boro fan was Grant's 2 footed tackle on him straight from kick off against Burnley.

You saw the measure of the man that day, he didn't react as he was sh it scared of Grant who should have been sent straight off.

If you're a hard man you don't pick and choose who you get into it with, you take on everyone. Barton is a bully.

I picked a shift up on Saturday, if Josh is playing in ECFC vBRFC and they give prior notice I might drop the shift to see him, it while since I have been to exeters ground maybe 17/18 years, I have to keep my mouth shut because this fixture maybe even more than Plymouth attracts a lot of nutters, especially from other clubs who have affiliations

Attended a Conference at Exeter Uni about 2007 an picked up a Grecians home game. They had a bucket collection going to buy new floodlights at the time.
I think it was the Supporters Trust organised it.
Had a positive "community" feel about the place at the time.
Is it still the same?

"He is finishing the end stage of his rehabilitation with their team and then we’ll get our hands on him, so that’s another bit of good news, albeit we haven’t seen him."

- Sounds like Barton didn't have much of a say in Josh's loan move then?

It's definitely a community club, the locals are very proud of it and for a small club who hasn't achieved much you definitely see a few tops when out and about. Exeter is a funny old place, it feels conservative, and traditionalist in a lot of the locals attitudes who I meet but votes labour and had a Remain majority, you can't even say it's the students because they have very little political driven activities and seem more interested in spending their mostly wealthy parents Dosh and partying and a very large bloc are from overseas so couldn't have voted in Fuxit.
