Josh Coburn Interview

He will be back out on loan next year. Should be plenty wanting him. Hope he steps up a league. Not good enough for regular start in Championship yet.
Hopefully one of the better league 1 teams fighting for promotion. Maybe one of the relegated championship teams Wigan or Blackpool or one of the teams that misses out in the league 1 playoffs this season.

In a word no. Sorry not yet if ever. I really hope he proves me wrong though.
You don’t think a young promising striker who knows where the back of the net is and has impressed at Boro scoring an iconic goal against Spurs and won his young player of the season at Bristol Rovers forming a good partnership with arguably the best player in league 1 - Collins will never be a better sub option than a midfielder who’s been made our sub striker and a loan signing who’s barely had a kick?

Probably would have been a better option than Muniz but not sure that Carrick would have preferred him over Crooks. Probably better for us in the medium term that he's been away on loan and improved.
Whether he'll be good enough next season if we're still in the Championship is hard to tell. Carrick has preferred fast, direct strikers (Forss then Archer) with Crooks really only coming on to see out a game or if there's an injury crisis. Coburn doesn't look like a good fit for this system and is probably not good enough for Carrick to change his system to suit him.

He's a smashing young man and a very promising player.
If we don't go up I hope he is on our bench next season.
If we do then I hope he gets a good Championship loan and doesn't spend another year in league one.
Good luck Josh (y)
But he needs game time not sitting on bench and getting crumbs like Crooks and Muniz. So for me he needs to go back out on loan but as I said hopefully at a better team.

From Bedale Bangers to Bristol Rovers "Young Player of the Year" and "Goal of the Season" winner !

"Coming from Middlesbrough and coming down here, I think its benefited me so much....."

Keep going lad
