Josh Coburn - hat trick

In the Premier League Cup semi-final as we thrashed Blackburn 5-2, away as well

Kavanagh & Stott got the others.

The kid is flying at the moment, time to give him his chance.

I think that's 18 in all comps for Kavanagh as well. He's a year younger but maybe a bench spot for him at some point soon.

Hopefully it could be a case of you wait 60 years for a home grown centre forward and then 2 come along at once
Was hoping the same. Kavanagh must be one of the best players of his age year in the country at the moment. Creative and a goalscorer, if he can step that up to U23s next year he could certainly challenge for a bench spot, although I'm always wary of that at 17-18 because loads of kids have broken through at that age and faded away by 21

Who else out of Warnock's Wonderkids™ gets a shot at the big time?
assuming we keep the core of what has been successful this season
and who are available. Build from the back and tweak the front end?

This is exciting stuff. I've been hoping for an academy goalscorer for so long.
To have two with clear potential is great.

Lets hope fans give them the incredible patience that has been shown towards wasters like Assombolonga and Fletcher.
A goalscoring home lad would be a cult hero like we've not seen since perhaps Clough. (Juninho aside)

Good luck to both Coburn and Kavanagh.

There’s a big difference between u18’s football and first team football in the Championship. These type of talents need to be nurtured properly. Hopefully we get a glimpse this season but we can be excited about the next couple of years if they can make the step up. The signs are good.

Old Testament names are really popular in this generation?

The experience will do them good. Even being on the pitch avoiding getting involved would match Fletcher's 'contribution' on Saturday

Evenhaving training sessions with the senior pros will help them. Coburn has been training with the first team for 6 weeks, goes back to the U18s for a game and scores a hatrick and an assist. Any of those kids that get that chance to train with the first team need to take it and step up like Coburn seems to have. If they can do it in training in the first team, we should trust them to have a few first team appearances. Remember that 17 year old Bellingham was clearly the best player on the pitch in a champions league match the other night, some people are ready to compete very young.
