Jordan Rhodes

Living in a time vortex. How many threads will you start OP about this bloke? As the above poster says he did score some vital goals in our championship season but his talents were on the wain. Proved so since. I’m not getting worked up about his stats. Patently out of his depth in the Premier League and if we have to have a plan as discussed fully on another thread we dont return to sign Ex players who have little to offer in the future.

100% Warnock won’t want him.

Boro_Legend, you'll only stop pushing for Rhodes to return after he retires won't you.

He'll be 38 and playing in the Scottish League One and you'll still want him to return :ROFLMAO:

I am not even aware of Rhodes' current stats, if he's scoring again as he did years ago or whatever .. but second time around for a player/manager at a club generally doesn't ever work out. I always consider Rhodes as yet another striker who seems to have been ruined in some way or gone off form since signing for us. When he did sign, there was talk Karanka was furious about it and whether there was any truth in that, it can't have done the lad any good as he'd have been aware of the negative vibes coming his way from AK if he was a player AK didn't really want. I seem to remember Karanka wanted McCormack and not Rhodes and had apparently gone in a huff over the signing being pushed over the line, maybe before he even had a say. Who knows.

I remember buzzing at the time we signed him and expected a lot more goals from the lad. But since he did come here, he's just been generally unspoken of, I almost completely forgot about him at one point then realised oh yes he's still a striker in the Championship :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

It wouldn't work bringing him back a second time around and I'm sure he wouldn't fancy the move himself either if people really think he is worth a punt come the Summer window. We couldn't afford his wages anyway even if he did turn up! haha

You may find his wages may be lower if he was to find a other club. We never saw the best of him as he was booted out by the club.

Booted out you mean as in we just got shot of him or something else happened?? haha .. Yeah it's been a good few years now since we had him on our books. Even still, I dread to think of what wage ceiling we're looking at after the past two seasons being ruined by pandemic, and we were already having to cut costs anyway!! Mistakes made overpaying for so many players etc ... I hope Gibbo etc have a trick or two up their sleeve and a way out of this mess and turn us into a really attractive, hungry club again that can spot players and become a side genuinely good enough to be promoted.

Goal every other game man at Huddersfield and Blackburn....good record.
Never performed to same level since.
31 now.
Playing for Oldham, Rochdale, Accrington or such like in his native Lancashire soon no doubt..

To be honest I think he was a pawn in what seemed to be a bit of a power battle that was developing with AK and Gibbo, you could slot Downing in that catergory as well.

Glad we managed to recoup most of the transfer fee so can't really show much ill will for his time and goal record.

He's basically an Uwe Fuchs that cost money.
