I thought he was excellent against us when we played Huddersfield at home, he was better than anything we had on the pitch that day.

But I don’t believe that he is the answer for us at this stage of his career.

If our ambitions don’t relate to obtaining a 15-20 goal season striker next year that can also physically dominate defenders, then the last day optimism people expressed after Wilder’s post match comments I fear will soon evaporate.

If we got him on a free transfer and on a 1 year rolling contract then i think that would be ok. He is 32 now so his best days are behind him as his stats for the last couple of seasons show.

I have nothing but good memories of Rhodes scoring some crucial goals in our promotion winning season. But I have the same sort of memories with Bernie or Uwe scoring some very important gols but that is where I feel we should leave them - as good memories

Beat me to it. He certainly looks the kind of player who needs help keeping his confidence levels up, and we knacked him. Spot on as a pro and if he had his time again certain he would not sign for us.
