Jonathan Pie - The Back Of Boris

I am probably alone in thinking the jonathan pie character is rubbish as a comedic vehicle. It's the same old, same old from him.

No you aren't. I got half way through that before I had to turn it off. Nothing new. Nothing original. I find him quite unpleasant.

I rather enjoy his use of language, both foul and descriptive, a favourite on this rant being his description of Johnson as a “Boiled sweet in a hoover bag”

Not really comedy anymore is it?

It's more in the vein of legitimate political commentary but with colourful language/metaphors.

His comedy persona is more serious and credible than anyone they wheel out on GBBs.

I think he knows it's dated as a comedy sketch now, he makes very few of them these days.

I quite enjoyed 'stupid lying I<unt and a nasty little bully' but as has been said, its not really comedy its just an actual legitimate opinion.

You raise some valid points Festa. If you view it as a rant, fair enough. He doesn't say anything new, but is quite eloquent with expletives.

Agree that the angry reporter routine to camera is a bit tired and unoriginal now, but just listened to the Call Jonathan Pie podcast on the NHS and it had a lot more substance to it, even with his character doing his usual ranty stuff in between,

I’d say it’s truth entertainment rather than laugh out loud comedy. A lot of his content is funny but designed to cause humorous outrage.

Yeah, take the swearing out and is it funny or just something political reporter would allude to.
