Johnson's expriment

Their track and trace, at least gives strong data about where the new spike originated and gives them some sort of chance of stopping a wider spread. Lets hope for them.

This is a country that was rightly lauded for its actions in tackling the virus. Now look what is happening.
Johnson plans to open schools on Monday and yet our daily deaths yesterday was more than S K's total for the whole pandemic
I have a feeling that this along with all his other relaxations are going to result in an increase in deaths

We’ve been told comparisons with other countries are meaning less - that’s why they stopped reporting them.
It was nothing to do with the fact we started beating everyone else and going to the top of the p!ss poor chart.

This will be interesting because one of the ‘5 tests’ is we will relax lockdown if we are confident there won’t be a 2nd spike.

Arguably of course the recent daily increase v last week could be used. I can hear it now -
‘Deaths were already on the increase before we allowed the latest relaxation’

Already lost count of the amount of people having barbq’s this weekend where there will be significantly more than 6 people round.

Tacking a pandemic is not really a subject for league tables.

In any case GB is one of the few countries I would believe to tell the truth whichever brand of politics was running the country. I certainly wouldn't put much reliance on anything that comes out of countries such as the Koreas.

We are trying our best in times of shortage of equipment and lack of staff trained to deal with such a disaster. No one is deliberately trying to kill anyone. Let's have a bit of support and I should hope this applies to the BBC which gives us nearly 100% of anti government party politics in every news broadcast.

What happens here depends on strict adherence to the rules.
I had an appointment at hospital yesterday for a pre op interview for my radical prostectamy. My wife naturally wanted to come along but the letter from the hospital said I must go alone. Reluctantly she said we aren't called Cummings so off I went
What happens next depends on what percentage of the population say We are not called Cummings

On what basis do you trust Johnson, Gove and Hancock to tell the truth.
I’m not sure you have being paying attention

Whilst I'm certainly not an apologist for the government's handling of this situation (quite the opposite), wouldn't we expect to see a spike when restrictions are lifted? The virus still exists (and likely will do for some time, possibly indefinitely) and as contacts increase presumably transmissions will grow?

I guess it's a question of relativity - by how much can transmissions grow before it becomes unsustainable?

Why conflate North Korea with South Korea and why would you not trust South Korea? I would certainly not trust the current bunch of Tories to tell the truth, after all their leader has made a very profitable living out of telling lies all his life.

Whilst relaxation will lead to an increase in cases. The question is can the government react successfully to any spike. The current mistrust in the government has mainly been brought about by their own actions. Despite this, will the public still do " the right thing" I sincerely hope they will. Much as I would like to get rid of these arrogant lying tossers they are not worth one decent citizen. Roll on the public inquiry hope fully it will report in about 4 years, 6 months before the election

Well, we can see 6 people from other households on Monday. Not sure I can list 6 people

And that 2020 year planner I bought was a fúcking total waste of money

Hi Artie Big news for WN. NO WIND!!
Baking up here how's L F?

What??!! 😆

Blooming hot mate. Just walked down to the the angel, up long bank, through Eighton banks and back along old Durham road past the QE. Was about 6 miles and it was far too hot for a walk, I just got in about 15 mins ago and inhaled a cold lager. Then mrs fufkin asks if we can walk to the shop!

There's a very slight breeze here mate here in LF. We'll have to have a pint in the fiddlers or wherever you drink one day, or if you fancy poshing it up in the black horse

Best wishes for the op windy 👍

Risking 6 people in back garden tomorrow. Then going into quarantine leading up to my op. See you on the other side. Looking forward to a tipple anywhere as soon as I regain control.

One of the barmiest posts I've ever read.

BBC 100% anti government? In the same week a newsnight presenters got the boot for daring to criticise. Can only assume you formed these opinions about the BBC 40 odd years ago and haven't watched since.

Why would you not trust "the Koreas" :D

I think the European countries are more relevant to us than South Korea now. South Korea is fighting the disease from a much lower base. Spain, Italy ahead of us and coming out of lockdown. Germany also. Why have Germany been so successful in fighting the virus when the rest of Europe has not been? I think it's down to their track and trace system, which was not abandoned as ours was.
