Johnson coining it in

This is, supposedly, the reason he pulled out of the last leadership contest. His speaking worth would have been significantly reduced had he lost.

He's not the first ex PM to cash in,just look at Blair!Absolutely appalling all the same!
Blair and Thatcher both had left the job of mp before they started their speaking tours. Johnson has been away from his paid full time job for months now.

I am not sure why he hasn't resigned as an mp, is he waiting to be found guilty of lying to Parliament in the up and coming inquiries or is he holding on to try and prove his innocence?

Sunak daren't sack off Johnson as it would cause massive unrest at grass roots level where the de Pfeffel cultists are still not happy that Sunak is PM, Johnson of course knows this and will swing the lead and extract the urine as much as he can, fortunately Johnson's interest is personal and pelf driven so whilst he continues to cast a big shadow as long as he's getting an easy ride he won't make waves.

He could ostracise Hancock easily as he's a pariah and holds no sway but issues like Johnson's holidays and other jobs and the Braverman situation show that he's a leader without full authority over the Party, a bit like May, and the internal battle to exert full control will be interesting, a 4th PM without a GE is something that the public and Parliament can't really consider and as a quisling of the ERG he's caught between a rock and a hard place.

The Conservative Party is divided and split, the UKIP policy infiltration has reached a point of impasse, the shambles of a poorly devised Brexecution should have weakened their influence within the Party but as shown by the Braverman situation the opposite is true.

It's a lot to pay for comedy.

You can go and see Peter Kay for £35 and he's much funnier.

But Blair did it after he retired. Fat Stuff is still an MP and his constituents are nor getting much from him galavanting around the world and taking month long holidays in West Indies while Parliament is sitting.

EDIT: should have finished reading rest of thread before posting as my comments dealt with earlier. My apologies.

I don't have a problem with the likes on Blair, Cameron, even Thatcher coining it in on the back of them being PM - they left their posts.

Johnson is taking the p155. But I am sure his constituents know this and will be booting him out at the next GE if he dares to stand again.

I think he deserves a medal or something...............

Like Lemmy, he can have one of mine when I hand them back if they are given them, its bad enough that they are part of the honours system. sheesh.
