It was meant with no malice! I said at the time I thought he had a bit of the David James about him.. great keeper but seemingly with a mental block or concentration issue.

I think David James put it down to playing video games before matches!

But yeah Joe was like a Tommy two face keeper one half Buffon, one half Buffoon!

I remember seeing him drop the ball when he was just bouncing it by himself.. also some world class saves!

Many just remember his mistakes, but he was also capable of great saves, remember one away at Millwall which won us a point.

Thrown under the bus by Wilder after an error against Hull and that’s when the Wilder era started to unravel.
