Jobs/Job Titles I never knew existed

As the corona news saturation coverage continues, it is noticeable the number of experts that get interviewed with jobs and associated titles that are hard to fathom what they actually do.
Just tonight I noticed an interview with the 'dean for the faculty of intensive care medicine' and the 'chairman of the county councils network' And there has been
many other experts over the last few weeks with bizarre job functions.

Whilst it is laudable to have every resource possible to deal with the current crisis it does make you wonder what these people were doing pre 2020.

To be told that London , the most densely populated place in the UK has more cases than other places in the country is just patronising.

Through the miracle of Google we learn that the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine is “the professional body responsible for the training, assessment, practice and continuing professional development of Intensive Care Medicine doctors and practitioners in the UK.”

Similar technological wizardry informs us that the County Councils Network is “a cross-party special interest group of the Local Government Association, representing England’s county local authorities. This includes securing substantial extra funding for councils in the Local Government Finance Settlement and securing the needs-based fair funding review of councils’ funding.”

So, sounds like these people were probably pretty busy even before the past few weeks.

I remember seeing a fella on the News who was the MD of the garages Car Wash Machines. He was having a whinge about the large amount of foreign hand wash companies being set up.
