There's a good player in there but the only way he's going to get match fit and up to the tempo of the Championship is by playing games.
 
I think the manager didn’t help him at all today, by leaving him on. Don’t want to have a go at a new player cos he’s definitely got something but he’s waaaaay off the pace of the Championship at the minute and should have got the hook long before he did. Maddo was saying as much in commentary a good 20 minutes before he went off.
 
Very poor unfortunately. Gave the ball away countless times and looked off the pace to me. It was so frustrating 2nd half when he had the opportunity to play either Sporar or Hernandez in and completely overhit the pass.

Saying that, I was surprised how far forward he was playing. At one point Crooks dropped into the midfield and JLS almost seemed to be occupying the no10 position.

I think I'd like to see him playing as an actual holding midfielder, and feel there isn't room for him and Howson in the same team.
 
Clearly talented but you can tell he has been caught out by the speed of the game here. He does something great and then 30 seconds later misplaces an easy pass.

Is he a holding midfielder? I’m not sure he is. He’s a bit more like a box to box player, essentially Saville’s replacement.

I thought he was ok in the first half, got forward and wanted the ball. Faded badly in the second half, but the entire team did.

I thought he was meant to be an upgrade on Morsey, looks a totally different type of player. The second half just past him by.

I think Blackpool deserve a lot of credit, their work ethic was excellent and we didn’t match it.
 
Rubbish today, worst player on the pitch (Hall and Lumley not far behind mind)

Ran about a lot and put the effort in but his passing - fook me it is $hite! How can a professional midfielder not be able to make a straight pass 10 yards on notice opposition players in between his target man.
 
I said I had reservations as he got cramp after 60 mins last game. That shows just how far off his fitness is. Getting cramp that early then playing him again 4 days later was madness. Should have been on the bench today, Tav in midfield and Jones on the wing

I didn't fully understand where he was playing, I assumed in a two with Howson, but as you say he spent a lot of the game further ahead than Crooks harrying and pressing.
