I think we will see less and less African players taking up premium squad numbers in UK and European teams.
It has been highlighted this week just how toothless Liverpool are without their ACON players and could ultimately scupper their EPL title challenge.
I can only see it getting worse until all the continental competitons are brought in synch during all close seasons of the domestic leagues.
Under the current conditions, I doubt we would have ever seen Geremi, Yak, Karembeau, JDJ et al, pull on the scarlet jersey.
Off the top of my head, I can only think of the above ex-Boro African players, but I'd like to see a full list if anyone can remember the others.
