Never really understood why currently employed managers do punditry during the season, same with players, Troy Deeney was on MOTD2 last night and he's been on TalkSport before, same with Charlie Austin.

Because it's relatively difficult to break into punditry and the rewards for doing so, compared to the hard graft of management are excellent.

You don't turn down an opportunity to move into a world where you can earn as much / more, for doing a lot less.
