Osbourne road is the main area for bars local to Jesmond Dene House, student area though so the bars tend to cater to that. The best there in my opinion would be Jam Jar or 97 and Social. Wylam Brewery is also a good shout as mentioned by FrozenHorse but a bit further away, I’m guessing 20-25 min walk… also a bit pricey nowadays but really nice beer.
Food wise not much else to add in Jesmond, apart from perhaps Rio Brazilian Steakhouse if you like your meat. Francesca’s is lovely but from memory I don’t think you can book, and it does get busy on a weekend.
If you are up for other areas, it is probably a 10-15 min walk to the metro if you want to go into the city, bit of everything there as you would expect. There is a Brewdog on Dean Street if you head down towards the Quayside, they do good pizza. Bridge Tavern and Crown Posada also good and close by. If you like your micro pubs I suggest trying Wobbly Duck and Town Mouse.
Ouseburn has loads of nice pubs - Tyne Bar and Free Trade in particular. Also Two By Two and Full Circle breweries. Two by Two often arrange food vans and Full Circle do good pizza. I think Full Circle also have live sport now.
Chillingham Road and Heaton Road are good as well, quite a few pubs and bars popped up there over the last few years. Cafe Spice is a nice Indian in that area, basically next door to the Chillingham pub which is also good.
Sorry, big list and I could probably go on! I think Newcastle is the most, or one of the most densely populated city in terms of pubs / bars etc. so there is a lot to choose from.
