James Wharton - now a Life Peer!

Eh? That little weasel?
I once saw him flap like a ***ed seagull when asked a question in parliament. He papped his knicks then hid behind Anna Soubry while she answered it on his behalf.

Absolute rodent.

When I first saw the thread title I thought it was one of those anagram games, but after a few seconds I realised there weren't enough letters to make James Wharton - weasel faced tw@t!

Evgeny Lebedev a life peer.

They really couldn't give a **** how this looks. Johnson's brother in there too.

Depressing doesn't cover it.

It looks awful but Lebefev does seem to have some positives in things he's done.

Lebedev may or may not be a decent cove, but elevating a Russian to the House of Lords in the wake of the damaging allegations in the Russia Report (the bit we got to see) is as blatant a "fukk you" to the people of this country as I can think of and further proof that Johnson does not care one jot for the public, for responsible governance (I suppose the Cummings Barney trip laid that to rest in truth) or for anything except his own aggrandisement.

He is a disgrace.

He has lived here since the age of 8 and is a British citizen, albeit a dual citizenship.

We should take Australia's view - if you want to be a member of parliament, you have to make sure you are not a citizen of any other country.

I mean, what next a US citizen becoming prime minister? (It would have happened if they hadn't tried to make him pay tax!)

Wharton straight from Westminster to a 6 figure salary at Squire Patton Boggs. International law firm. All about the contacts you see. Politics is just a career path for these Low lives

So many on here seem to be forgetting James' good works when he was Minister for the Northern Powerhouse ........................ oh, wait ....................

Actually, that one does seem fair enough, since he is a lawyer. Not sure how you know his salary mind you.

I live in Stockton South and Wharton was the invisible man Within the constituency when he was our MP. He was however always available for photo opportunities for his great work leading the Northern Showerhouse. He is a loathsome man with no redeeming features but for some reason good enough to be given a peerage. Thousands of Teessiders work tirelessly for the area and charities with no recognition for their work but this creep gets a peerage for what? I am deeply ashamed that I live in a constituency who kicked out a local doctor who has worked his socks off during the pandemic to put in his place a Wharton clone who again is invisible and votes against things like not allowing the NHS to be exempt from Trade talks and the banning of the important of chlorinated chicken from the US. This country makes me so angry

Paul Williams just needed to say he was in favour of brexit after all.

Would have been a massive lie but the electorate have overwhelmingly demonstrated they don't care about politicians lying, as long as it's what they want to hear. In fact some seem to prefer it if anything.

It’s called ‘principles’ and the good Dr wasn’t prepared to bin them off to secure a victory based on lies. People needed to see the election for what it was and not the Brexit referendum round two. I asked people on here to look at the individuals, their contribution to their community and how they would represent them and the place they lived in in parliament. It was a no brainier in Stockton South, a bloke who lived and breathed the area and who fought for the poorest and most disadvantaged versus another Tory career politician who was a mirror image of Wharton. In a time when politicians leading the country lie just about every time they open their mouths, it would have been refreshing to have principled people sitting in the commons. We reap what we sow.
