James Lea-Siliki completes permanent move to Portugal side Estoril.

FORMER Middlesbrough midfielder James Lea-Siliki has left Rennes and completed a permanent move to Portuguese side Estoril.
The Primeria Liga side have completed a deal to bring the Cameroon midfielder across Europe on a three-year deal.
After joining on a season long loan deal from Rennes, Lea-Siliki struggled to break into the Boro side and made just 11 appearances in total.
The 26-year-old was told in January he would no longer be needed under Chris Wilder and was instructed to find a move elsewhere. However, he remained on Teesside until the end of the season after competing in the African Cup of Nations.
His last Boro appearance came in a 3-2 defeat to Barnsley at Oakwell.

No one is going to convince me there were no other competent, experienced, players available on these isles at that time.

What happened to his deal with us, I thought it was a loan with a permanent move at the end of the loan? I can't recall seeing anything on here about it so had a quick look on TransferMarkt. I know that isn't always correct but from what I can see it looks like we paid £2.7m for his loan / permanent move, then the permanent move was cancelled and he went to Estoril on a free. Does anyone know if this is correct?
