James Grundy MP

Yes I’m sure being on the sex offenders register is perfectly normal for an MP.

Probably because it’s illegal under Section 66 (1) of the sexual offences act (2013)?

But he isn't on the sex offenders register nor has he been charged under section 66 (1) of the sexual offences act (2013).

The courts would be backed up abit if anyone who had ever flashed anything under the influence of alcohol was to be charged under it. Look at a festivals the police would clean up.

I'm at work but I took 2 minutes to check the article before making comments back to people. It shows you have a pre agenda. You don't have to be reactionary at all. You could choose not to react until you have read the article.

You think it’s a decent way for reprsentative of the public to act? Regardless of when it happened?

I mean, it seems you do, So fine. I just would want someone with a bit more moral standing representing me.

I would want someone who was the best person for the job. He wasn't a representative of the public when it occurred therefore I don't think it reflects on his ability to perform his role.

I admit I got part of the story wrong, see there it's easy to admit a mistake and stand corrected. It's good for the soul. I have no agenda at all, although I would admit to having political views, as many on here do. What's wrong with that? I note that suddenly you're all fact, fact, fact whilst usually you are, what about, what about - as and when you are endlessly proven wrong. Anyway who cares it's a forum and we are all entitled to an opinion.

Only loonies and perverts get their **** out in public, was never normal amongst anybody I knew or bothered with. My parents friends or workmates wouldn't have bothered with me again.

I wasn't in the forces or went to university or private education, perhaps this is something that you do as the norm when having a drink?

Please note John I only deal in facts ;). Hence my posts on the Patel thread of yours and the government policy on the work commitment customers sign up for when claiming benefits. Just the truth John, that's all we ask (y)

It’s a fact that he exposed himself in public. It’s also a fact that he’s a representative of the people. As I stated earlier I would not want someone who did the former to end up doing the latter. I guess I have higher standards

Listen ere Cooper lad!! I am busy at work and occasionally have to be reactionary without understanding the subject. You do it all the time. Although I have to admit I only read the headline. If I had read the piece I could have said it shows poor judgement of the man rather than the politician. Plus the article said MP, not future MP. I blame the media!!!

you can only blame your self for reading a headline and jumping in feet first tbh ;)

ffs smalltown, you and TT are on a right old moral high ground campaign here, let it go... it really is a non story what ever side of the political spectrum you shine from...

I’m sorry, I have a thing about politicians not being fit for office, especially the current lot. This proves that. Just because it offends your own political sensibilities doesn’t make it a none story. Maybe you wish it was? Or you have similar loose morals? I don’t know but it is important.

‘I have higher standards’
No - you have different standards.
There is no right/wrong/high/low

It's a good point but, well, I'm not so sure in this case. By any society norm: get ones penis out in a bar is pretty poor form. I would say those defending it have lower standards of decorum.

You feeling insecure.
Instead of telling everyone you have higher standards than others read the thread.
Not one person has said what he has done is ok. No one has said its the norm and no one had defended what he did.
Some have pointed out how relevant it is to what he is employed to do - very different from defending what he did.

Loose morals... It's a long way down from your high horse, give it a rest you're not fooling anyone...

I've no time for a tory politician but surely you can see that this has absolutely no bearing on his current role...

It's quite possible he has real skeletons in his closet but until they're unearthed it's just chipshop wrapping...

I suppose the point is if the voters weren’t aware of this behaviour prior to casting their vote would it have had an influence on their thinking ? Who knows ? We live in an age where people will send pictures of their genitals to strangers as an everyday thing.

What an odd way of reading it? I’m far from insecure. Not sure where that came from.
At least two people have defended it as behaviour that’s fine for someone who is to become an elected member of office. I, is I have said, have higher standards for them.
