Jacob Greaves in contract talks...

Hull City said over a week ago that they were not selling (then slapping a ridiculous price on his head) so why is this still a story?

Fair play to this Greaves lad. Looking at it from his perspective, he's a young player playing for his hometown team (and presumably the team he supports), he's got a family connection to the club and seems to be absolutely loved by supporters. They've just been taken over by somebody who seems like he's going to throw a lot at it to make them successful, so you'd imagine being apart of Hull at the moment would be pretty exciting for anybody, let alone a young lad who is a fan. Putting myself in his shoes, even if a bid was to be accepted, I'd be reluctant to leave at this stage too.

Exactly what joey said.
Why would he leave us, when he's right where he wants to be and they're in the best spot they've been for years. He can sign a new contract, get all the fans behind him even more whilst earning more money and then leave in the summer and if he has a good season he'll earn his boyhood club twice as much money before departing for the PL.

I agree with the above, looks like he's not coming...
That being said, it's still a major boost for Notebook followers so some positives for everyone at least 👍

Rejects contract offer again, his heads been turned, happens all the time with both footballers and there agents, last year of contract Hull will have no choice but sell him if the player continues not to re-sign.

If we are in fact interested in Greaves (don't believe half of the paper/social media nonsense), and he's rejecting contract offers from Hull, the closer it gets to the window closing the more likely they are to sell him.

Am I right in thinking he can speak to clubs in January and sign a pre agreement for free?

I think he could only speak to/sign pre contract with non English league based clubs in January but free to speak to foreign clubs, I could be wrong on this but I thought that was the rules.

This has shocked me massively, unless its just his agent in his ear wanting assurances if they don't go up they'll help him leave next summer. Really can't see why the lad would leave Hull (boyhood club, dad has a history there, they're making big transfers, fans seem to think they have a chance etc real feel good factor) to join Boro who have had a tame start to the season, have lost two big names for big fees without reinvesting, not sure on this but i do like the look of him and i'd love us now to go out and fire another bid in, and just see what happens.

Hoppe, Greaves, Larsen, Muniz on loan, Mowatt on loan - that'll do before Sunday please Boro.

There owner was quoted in an interview as saying we’d made an enquiry and offer at the start of the summer it’s on video
