Jacinda Ardern - Resigns

It's the hypocrisy that gets my back up Cardiff, he seems and intelligent guy but intelligence and common sense often don't go hand in hand. The reasons why you voted ST doesn't make it okay to be a hypocrite. You can vote for whoever you want I don't really care it's when you say some of the things you do when it was you who helped put them in power.
I'm not sure it IS hypocrisy if you read my explanations. The reasons I voted the way I did never came to pass and have been entirely overshadowed by coronavirus and the terrible response.

I didn't vote for Boris Johnson
bull**** of course you did unless you don't understand how the voting system works.

I get you must feel stupid now after voting Tory but like others have said the warning signs have been there for years.

😊

I didn't vote for Johnson as I explained previously. You must think we are in America too. I don't feel stupid, not at all, my reasons for voting the way I did are still valid, probably even moreso now.

I just feel angry and betrayed.

Whats interesting is that a current Government official in UK could have reeled off much the same list of many things we already had, or have introduced ourselves. Lots of sweeping headlines without substance and a few unremarkable numbers.
I don't find her impressive, though at least she could read the 2 minutes of cues, whereas I wouldn't think Johnson could get past the first ten seconds before bumbling and ad libbing.

Im sure we could take half hour of time listing in quick succession the failings and errors this Government have made since their time in office - which is only 5 1/2 months.

You voted for them? You must of known what you were getting, it was plain as day

Don't you realise Thor, SmallMind voted Tory for selfish reasons, thinking the Tory candidate in his borough would benefit his interests. Keep up!

It would be an easy task, on coronavirus at least. Pretty much anything else might be speculative.

Love how ST has this saying which hasn’t caught on but he loves saying it “borisettes”. He votes Tory but that wasn’t a vote for Boris.... but everyone else who voted Tory did.

He hasn’t clocked on he’s a “borisette” whatever that is

I'm sure you could cardiff and I'm not defending the Government and especially not the leader.
I'm simply pointing out that much of what Ardern blurted was what we already had, or were doing too; and that lots was headline statement without substance.
It's what politicians do.

Its a cynical view I grant you that but perhaps if I thought you'd gone through the statement line by line and debunked her claims as “politicians twaddle” then you may have a point. But have you?

I listened closely twice to what she said and there are clear examples of things as I have described.
She may have done some very good things, but most of the things she is claiming, they are either playing catchup, or we have also done.
I don't defend Johnson, but nor do I wish we had Ardern as our leader at all.

Playing catch-up? Four deaths per million population; UK - 632 deaths per million population (at least). Don't think they have any intention of catching us up.

The vast majority of her "just two minutes" had absolutely nothing to do with Covid.
But you knew that right Bear.

I get you don't find her inpressive. I rarely find politicians who impress me and certainly our present incumbent - well he is a politician for whom I have contempt. In Ardern I actually do find her impressive and this thread pretty much lists the reasons why.

You do know how parliamentary majority’s work though don’t you. You might not have voted Boris directly but you you gave him the mandate and ammunition to fire.
