Iverson or Darlow??

It's a toughie!
But my preference would be Iverson - he is younger and although he may not have the experience of Darlow - he is currently plying his trade in the Championship.

I imagine Iverson is a lot cheaper in terms of wages etc.

To be honest I don't know enough about either. I've hardly seen them in the flesh.

Darlow apparently was decent when he stood in for the No1 (can't be arsed googling for spelling😂). The large majority of mags online think it's a decent move for both parties.

I find that opinions of the fans you are buying from hold a lot of weight. Most seem positive. I mean qpr fans came on here and laughed about Lumley also Barnsley fans about Fletcher etc etc. They see them every week.

My issue with that is Newcastle fans basing their opinion of Darlow as being good for championship on their season in the championship where they had a squad that was far too strong for the league.

It would be like Fulham fans saying Rodak is a good championship keeper when infact his forwards have got him out of trouble on numerous occasions.

The Newcastle fans i know base it on his time standing in for them in the premier league

Most newcastle fans i know dont think hes good enough to be first choice for them of us.

Fair enough, but the few I've spoken with have specifically referenced his time playing in the championship in their promo season saying "he isn't prem class but did a good job for us in the championship"

I'm not digging out Darlow, he'd be a vast improvement on what we have. Just think longer term and IF we go up, Iverson has more development potential. Id also like us to sign more players in the 23-27 age bracket to develop on and sell (if we have too) rather than sign players who leave on frees

Im sure I read somewhere that Iverson has said he doesn't want another Championship move, he wants to play in the Prem or move abroad.

I wouldn't pretend to know much about either, i'm just going on what i've been told. He's only 31 Darlow which isn't that old for a keeper, there is some scope for him developing further with more game time. I know what you're saying regarding selling on but equally player who comes on for free or cheap and gives a number of years good service is also decent value for money

Yep, coming into his Peak

Iversen for me, from what I've read, but I won't pretend I have massively strong opinions on either.

Didn't get to see Iversen called in to action much when we played them.

Hope he didn't base a possible move on that performance. He'd be saying to his agent 'no thanks' as Daniels is getting peppered lol.

Either/or for me.

Both will be a huge improvement on what we have. Newcastle mates say Darlow is a good Championship keeper, will do a job for us. Prone to the odd clanger but generally solid.

Iverson, can only go off what I've seen on TV, and he looks solid. Younger option - probably cheaper as well - so if you are looking to the future to have a keeper here for a good few years (or develop to sell for a profit) he would be a decent signing 👍

Anyone watched a decent amount of either of them?

Which one is best suited to the 'Wilderball' keeper role? As in, good feet, comfortable in possession, quick off his line rushing out with good decision making.

I'd expect any keeper that has been on the books of a PL club for a while to be a decent enough basic keeper / shot stopper to a job for us, but it is the other bits above that would probably be what swings it.

Can I be first to say ‘FFS, he’s got to save that! Utter dogshiite! Lumley was better and he was kak!’ Etc etc

Absolutely this.

Allison Becker and Ederson are both brilliant keepers in the traditional sense, but also both are excellent with the ball at their feet.
