Ivan Toney

Probably setting the bar high. Would probably accept 60M if they were offered it. They would be better off keeping him, and hope he scores the goals to keep them up.

Not sure what the financial situation is like at Brentford but surely selling him fits their model better. They could then invest the money in two or three other players that they can hopefully improve and move on.

They're putting a premium on him because they don't want to sell and they're in atrocious form and need a striker.

They're not far off the relegation zone right now.

They might well pull away with Toney back soon, but it's not guaranteed they'd stay up without him.

Am I the only one who thinks this guy is an absolute thundercunt?

Consistently disrespected the club that pays his wages, finally back from a ban and pushing for a move from the same club that’s stuck by him.

Playing devils advocate, did they really stick by him or did they just protect their asset? I mean they could have sacked him, but then he’d now be signing for free with a big club for massive wages. If he does leave, Brentford will make a massive profit from a player who helped them get promoted and was integral to them staying in the PL.

Like many footballers and their agents who put their pockets before their loyalty?

I think players should play the game a bit, we know the vast majority want to play for Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City but they shouldn't really come out and say it publicly.

Especially if they have just been getting paid for an extended holiday after being banned for breaking the rules.
