We are supposed to be building for Euro 2024 though.
He's made the England squad.
Clearly deserved on performances, but I'm surprised with that ban looming.
I suppose it's not coming in the next 2 weeks, and he'll still be able to play, so why not?

I think it's the first time I've seen an England squad picked in which I've not heard of a particular player.
Who have you not heard of?I think it's the first time I've seen an England squad picked in which I've not heard of a particular player.

Harry Kane is a popular player in North London. He has yet to win a trophy but he knows where the net is.I think it's the first time I've seen an England squad picked in which I've not heard of a particular player.
The reason that football authorities now take this so seriously is the match-fixing scandal in the 60’s where 10 players over the top four divisions were jailed for throwing matches for betting syndicates. This included 3 internationals who played for Sheffield Wednesday (Layne, Swan and Kay) who agreed to throw their game against Ipswich. Ipswich won 2-0 and ironically Swan was the Man of the Match!
They were banned from football for life, but later changed to 7 years.
Why wasn’t he picked for the World Cup then?
