If the football went ahead, after cancelling all the lower leagues yesterday it would go to show that this is all about money, it would really leave a sour taste in my mouth and I'm sure others too. Cancel everything and we go again whenever we can.

Well let's hope so, as tough as it would be for Liverpool, Leeds, West brom etc it needs to be done.

I think that’s a good point, be interesting to see what happens but the pyramid system would seem to be a legal drawback to finishing the season unless it can be successfully argued the professional leagues should be treated differently.

But football is not an essential industry so whilst restrictions are in place how can they play behind closed doors?

The leagues should resume soon as a time is available, finish the present season, which includes all leagues

If they had decided to do that with every division erimus then I'd be with you mate but it's really stuffing over the lower leagues if the rest continue.

Agree, they have to do all the leagues, otherwise as you rightly say it's all down to money, plus some of the teams who woukd win something may never get the chance again

What I would love to see is a football family solidarity. If the FA don't treat every level of football, that it is responsible for, in the same way, no one attends another match this season, everyone cancels sky sports once football restarts and boycott next season.

This won't happen, of course, mores the pity.

The only reason there is a clamour to finish the season is financial. It says a lot about football that they are trying desperately to find a way despite what is going on the world.
To say it ‘doesn’t matter’ at the lower end of the tier but does at the top also shows football for what it has become.

It used to be the people’s game. Now its divisive, All that matters are the sponsors, media and anyone else who get financial gain - or those getting an ego kick by owning a club.

I agree that fans are becoming less important to the top leagues clubs. It's wasn't long ago that there was a report that said lots of clubs in the PL and CHampionship could afford to play without a crowd. If the PL decide to play matches behind closed doors, why bother to go again at all. I think if they do, I'll finish with football.

It's all about money in the Prem. The very idea of clubs having to return an average of £40 Million (perhaps one or two decent players these days) to the broadcasters makes them turn pale.

This idea of playing only 2 more games in total to equalise clubs on having played 29 games, and thus finish the season there , shows willingness to settle for a final league of 29 played or 38 played as long as Liverpool get the title and Champions League positions for next season are sorted out.

We've been saying for a while footballs finish & this will prove it, we're all in this together, all equal, some are more equal than others

The greed is good top top 4 are the only teams that matter to the PL, FIFA, maybe Man Utd but no one else

What makes Liverpool winning the title more important than Stockton winning the title
