It is so cold outside

Well-known member
Woke up this morning here in Alberta and it is minus 48 wind chill. Now that is bloody cold. Been driving a diesel vehicle as a loaner for the last few weeks and it is as frozen as an ice cube. It is going nowhere until we get a thaw. Minus 50 tonight they say. I feel so bad for all the skiers from Europe who have spent a fortune coming Banff to ski as you just can't ski in those temps. In fact all the ski hills have closed due to the cold. You can't do anything. Very dangerous. Frost bite in a minute with these type of temps.

So much for global warming.

What are you saying here ? Are you saying you are considering putting a coat on ? You know it 'breaks' the North Easterner code right, and will be very hard to come back from this folly. 🤣 Please consider all other options
 
My brother and his wife emigrated to Edmonton, Alberta, stayed 6 years then moved to San Francisco, stayed 25 years, then on to San Diego. Snowbirds who flew south, permanently, purely because of the harsh winters.:)

Yup. Climate change whereby it’s that cold 🥶 you can’t go out and contribute to an economy. Imagine how it’s going to be in 25 years because these types of extremes will spread to bigger communities and economies bringing or grinding economies to a halt whereby people won’t be able to live in certain areas of the globe 🤷‍♂️

OK so I’m in lanzarote (as i boringly repeat) and the weather changes here (heat not cold) are freaking everyone out, no winter last year, not looking like one this year. Record temp highs September and October, it’s all getting odd year on year. Hard to deny climate change.
 
-27C here in Aktobe, we’re waiting for the cold weather to arrive over the coming weeks.
I have to remove the car battery and put it in the apartment to keep it warm otherwise the car wont start.
