I admire people who can be optimistic about these sorts of situations. I just don't have it in me. Palestine looks utterly doomed to me. Israel are paranoid beyond reality about them as it is - they could never allow Palestine to be a sovereign nation with an actual army of any sort.

Who wouldn't in their shoes? If you're that poor 10 year old girl in one of the videos, half starved by the blockades, and now your homes just been shelled to rubble it'd take a heck of a strong ethical mind to start philosophically defending Israel's rights to exist and defend itself.

Again, I can't help but think the whole situation is just doomed to perpetuate. How can either of these sides ever trust or forgive one another enough to back off? I suppose it must be possible somehow, someone earlier mentioned Northern Ireland and the Good Friday agreement. It's just so difficult to imagine it from where it all is now.
 
While other nations are taking sides in the conflict then it's going to be impossible to resolve this in any way.
 
The middle east has historically been a source of religious conflict. Add in that they later cornered the oil market and is it any wonder the West got involved and made things even worse. Of course, the arms industry is just another way to make money from the misery of millions so there is little doubt that this is about much more than land.

If both are the same then you literally can`t say anything at all against Israel, which sounds absolutely ridiculous.

Is that why no-one in power comes out and says the policies of the Israeli Government against the Palestinian people are wrong, because it`s deemed Ant-Semetic/Zionsim

If anti zionism = anti semitism come and arrest me Israel are a murderous state and really should be stopped and the Palestinians rehomed in their ancestral lands
 
Isn't it sad that we live in a world where footballers feel they have to highlight social issues acoss the planet. Isn't that specifically the job of our politicians.
