Is ordering three meals on expenses acceptable.

You make sure the screenshot just includes the details of the meal and nothing else duh

Use edit tools it is not hard

Nobody is asking you for any information that could possibly lead to any kind of identification

Understand how to take a screenshot! To take a screenshot from a personal invoice (regardless of what the content is) and post it on social media on a works computer is a sackable offence
Haha. The law is an ass. It’s ok to call one of your colleagues a fat greedy lump on social media (albeit not mentioning her by name although you could narrow her down to the Visp office) but not to copy an anonymous restaurant or take away bill receipt to a private forum?

I never called her a fat greedy lump, I just asked for opinions on an expenses submission. What value would it add to the debate by posting a receipt that shows three pizzas for £50?

As for the posting of data from our financial data, you would not believe the
level of data security and scrutiny that is involved in my role

Did every other member of staff submit a meal claim on the same day? Is it possible she paid for herself and two others and the other two either haven’t claimed or are being dishonest and claiming?

The only way you’re going to get to the bottom of this is asking the question.

you are well within the limits to ask a question and investigate as a potential error or policy breach. If it’s a genuine error on somebodies part then it show your diligence and attention to detail. If it’s dishonesty then you have caught them red handed and they are in trouble.

I have worked for years in loss prevention and will always remember the following statistic given to me on my first day 21 years ago...

One in three employees is dishonest... when you think about it that’s one hell of a lot of dishonest people

Could admin maybe set up a separate specialised sub forum for fantasists to talk about expense claims in Switzerland on? Just to keep all of that stuff in one place because there's been loads of it recently and it's really clogging the place up. This is supposed to be a BREXIT message board.
You tell them!

Intersting fact!

Yeah, the whole team submitted expenses and the meals were entirely for her - I think she was under the impression it was like a per diem payment and that she could spend £50 however she wanted.

The main thing in question is probably what is the definition of an evening meal. It’s said in a singular way but if her idea of an evening meal is three main courses are we within our rights to question it?

Let her have 3 pizzas mate. If she ordered a fillet stake / lobster that cost £50 would there be an issue?

It doesn’t make a difference to the company how much she eats, whether she spends the £50 on cavier or 50 packs of super noodles.

By the sounds of it, the policy isn’t clear, or certainly hasn’t been made clear to her.

Clarify it if you need to, but then she’s just likely to spend the £50 on the most expensive meal.

Ultimately the cost is all the matters to the company, not how much food the fat knacker eats.

Maybe she’s trying to make gains.

Well based on that then I would give the benefit of the doubt and just remind her of the policy...

unless you have a history of her doing it with a previous reminder being given...which would make it a disciplinary offence

Replying to myself here but I just realised that that may have come across like I'm in favour of Brexit. I'm definitely not. Just wanted to make that clear.

I wouldnt say anything. Sounds like she will be huge and might come round and fill you in.

A lad I know bought £40 worth of Easter eggs in expenses with the comment “they can’t tell me what I can and can’t eat”.

And gents I'm not talking about going for seconds, it's when it's piled high upto the f'i'n ceiling!

And then half of it's left.

Could I have her phone number ? I feel like Benny Hill in the Italian Job as she sounds great company . Big and cuddly and a bedside fridge full of goodies - what more could a man want ?

Yeah, I expected that would be the case. I just feel really uncomfortable questioning someone’s portion control
You don’t have to question their portion control, you could decline the expense quoting policy and ask to resubmit with one meal.

you can also have questioning down the route did she pay for other people’s meals. You don’t have to make it personal

Let’s hope she’s not a member of Middlesbrough Supported Florida Branch, poor Lass will never eat again!

whatever the reasons I would just let it slide this time - and tighten up the policy going forward.

If the Home Secretary can spend 30K of our money on her eyebrows - whats it matter about three plates of egg, chips an peas 😊(y)
