Is it possible to sail from Exeter to Plymouth?

Say hire a boat in Exeter see the cup game then sail along the Devon coast, dock in Plymouth, see the game and then sail back to Exeter. Saving on hotel accommodation fees to pay for the boat.

I alos imagine quite a few Boro fans will be booking Devon cottages for a week.

I was looking at accommodation last night and there seems to be plenty at reasonable prices. Remember, it is half-term week and the kids are off.

I guess it depends on the school, but my kids are off and want to go to Exeter AND Plymouth!

Ah yes I can see Middlesbrough schools are off the week after ours. Will at least mean that the whole country isn't off at once (affecting prices).

Bizarely not half term in Devon. The term times are 1 week different to Boro this year so half term is the week before for Devon folk.

Our little girl is off the week before Halloween, but we know other kids from other schools who are off Halloween week.

BTW - I think it would cost you more to hire a boat and fuel it, than a hotel will do.

yes it is, but you would need to be a very experienced sailor as you'll enter the English channel. I am not aware of a direct river route.

Should be fun sailing between those places, just make sure you take a radar reflector and some red flares, just in case :)

Can you sail down the Esk to the estuary, then along the coast to Plymouth?
I`m sure you can.
Or catch the train to Exemouth and hire a fishing boat....lyke.
