Is it me or is society ‘creeping’ back

Its not really just economy driven, Jesus the narrow minded attitudes to this whole situation baffles me.

The government have made some serious errors here.

However, we're ramping up testing, the need for ventilators has dropped, we are a mere 5 months from a potential vaccine with millions being supplied, plus much more.

Don't just slate the government, political preferences are null and void here, I'd like to add that I don't feel there is a political party that represents me anymore.

B&Q didnt have to shut in the first place, they just did off their own back, now they are opening again with distancing...fair play.
Same as the take away drive thru sections of Maccy Ds, KFC etc
Construction sites are getting back up and running...with distancing etc. The economy needs to get up and running, before there is nothing left of it. Still protect the elderly, vulnerable etc. No social gatherings, pubs etc. People work from home as much as possible....but the country has to get working again

I'm not surprised that business is stepping in.. there's a realisation that both political parties haven't got an plan other than treading water.

There's 0 critical thinking occuring and those of you who think we need to remain locked down really need a reality check.

Every % point unemployment goes up more people die, this is a fact.

Every person that is not contributing taxes means we have less money to fund the NHS and our other vital services.

Everyday of furlough costs £2.4 billion just on the surface.

We have already spent all of the money 'saved' during 10 years of horrific austerity in 1 quarter.

Start thinking seriously about this...

No leadership shown throughout the crisis, negligence before it. The apologists really are an ignorant bunch

As for the thread title, I was attracted to read it as I have had the same feeling of late but it has nothing to do with businesses reopening.

Maybe you could let us know, that's all of us, not just the 'ignorant bunch' how you would have handled things from the beginning.

Once again, govt letting things slide to see what happens...same as large gatherings, schools etc etc
wouldn't surprise me if they're back on the herd immunity track again
