Yeah the Gazette keep saying he's out of contract now, but its not in keeping with what they wrote when he signed his extension.I’d be fairly happy if we had for another year in this league. Hope that’s correct although I’ve seen lots said about him been out of contract.
Could be, or could just be that they've agreed mutually its time for him to move on.Strange , wonder if they got it wrong originally and it was with the option of an extra year? Another point though is when I have seen Woodgate mention out of contract players he always speaks about Howson and Ayala, never anything on Clayton so could be something in that who knows.
Our squad is going to look like this, before any (cheap) summer additions or significantly reduced contract extensions.
I'm guessing that some or all of Britt, McNair, Tav and Fry will be sold. Woody has a tough task on his hands.
This would be a very Brexit-proof squad!
- GK: Pears, Stojanovic, Mejias
- FB: Spence, Dijksteel, Coulson, Bola
- CB: Gibson, Wood, Liddle, Stubbs
- M: Wing, Saville, Malley, Wearne, Hackney
- F: Fletcher, O’Neil, Browne, Walker, Burrell
Ben, looks like he's definitely going to be here doesn't it?i hope we’re in a position to Keep McNair and would love Howson to stay on , I think Tav will stay but if a decent offer came in I could be tempted to sell him. And is that Ben Gibson listed there I see or a youngster?

It's the same mistake people made about bladerunner. Everyone said it was set in 2019. But if you check the file dekkard is given on Roy Batty you can see the date he was created was 2015, and given replicants have a three year life span the film must be set in 2018.
I think most or all of our saleable assets will be sold Zorro. Rumours of bids from cash rich PL clubs like Brighton for players who aren't especially high quality, like Tav, are what will keep EFL clubs afloat in the absence of gate money. Why would sell anyone we wanted to keep ( I’d sell brit tomorrow btw) but McNair Tav etc they are the key players for the future.
Part of the Fry deal, we need a replacement, he's fallen out with Dyche, he presumably would like to play for the club again and Burnley might be happy to pay some of his wages to get him off their bill. Seems to be in the interests of all four parties?Ben Gibson - I know he is training with us, but why do people think he will be playing for us Next season?
I would have thought their would be better suitors and with more money than we have.

We're asking for £20m, which means we'd probably accept £10m. I'm pretty sure that deal will happen personally, with Gibson coming the other way on loan.Fry deal?
What deal is this? It is all paper talk or have i missed something? I have seen the speculation of Boro wanting up to £25M for Fry. I would be amazed if we got that or remotely near that tbh. I could understand a p/ex but why would Fry go to Burnley after Bamfords and Gibbo’s experience of life at Turf Moor? I think it would be a career staller
I don't think we'd have the option to. I think it'll be purely a move of convenience for all involved, and financially sensible for us if we're getting a better defender for a similar wage and not on a long-term contract (assuming Burnley would pay some).I just hope we don’t blow all our budget to bring “Ben back home” in some sort of sentimental transfer spin.
