Don’t know if it’s true but when I got told about Warnock speaking to his wife and Leo staying I also got told Gibson been living at Rockliffe for some time and he is desperate to sort out a move and it’s just dependant on Burnley getting in someone in to replace him first.

Gibson would be a huge move for us, having lost Ayala. Fry at times looked like a fish out of water last season.

Nope. Just what I was told, obviously the fact he hasn’t played for them in 2 years and hasn’t been actually at Burnley since god knows how long makes it hard to believe but just what I was told, and the other 2 things I was told turned out to be true so you never know. Maybe they just want a body in first. Either way, I think he will be back in some way. Even if it’s before they get someone in as apparently he really wants it to happen
 
Even if he takes a big salary reduction I still cant see how it could happen - he's earning £40k pw at Burnley isn't he (before any bonuses, if there are any) and even half of that is probably beyond what Boro can do right now?
 
He's been training with us since February. He most feel like he's 'signed' 😂. I guess he's been living at home all this time.

I would prefer a season loan. Its more down to lack of game time over the last 18 months. Also only picking up a percentage of his reputed 40k a week.
 
I might be in the minority but I think we get better values than bringing Gibson back.

When we got promoted he had the glue of the team next to him and two defensive midfielders ahead of him. In the premier league we got relegated with him in the team.

If I had a straight 50/50 between Gibson and Ayala. I would go for Ayala.
 
I actually think Ayala is a better defender but is a snake. Pretty sure we would be getting a home town discount on him if he comes back in terms of personal terms. Gibson and Hall at the back gives us good balance too with Gibson being left footed. I don’t rate Fry tbh and still think we need another defender. Most teams carry four CBs and Gibson, Hall, Fry and Goode would give us options without having to play Howson there in the event of suspensions and injuries. Can see us signing Amos and Jones and McNair leaving.

its either Gibson or a decent DM coming in to cover the back four — Clayton even though he’s only in his early 30s lacks pace.
 
I'd agree.
I think we need one more senior CB, hopefully Gibson, and then start to ease in Stubbs and Wood.

Hopefully with decent cup runs.
