Into the fog: How Britain lost track of CoVid-19

The decision to stop testing those with mild symptoms, even accepting that tests were limited, and to stop contact tracing quite early on was baffling. We weren't looking for a needle in a haystack, we couldn't even be bothered to look for the haystack!

That is a pretty damning indictment of Johnson's Government, there is only one question that needs to be answered now.

Was it incompetence or calculated?

I think probably a little of both, but we know that the argument will be that the "time is not right" until suddenly it will be "time to move on".

Tories lied - people died.

For everyone who didn't vote to get the Tories out, you also share this guilt. (But Jeremy Corbyn)

besides the cull of the old and sick via an overt/covert herd immunity policy the govt hasn't had a strategy to deal with Covid-19 besides trying to avoid the nhs being overrun. It's just been a mess that's cost 000s of lives unnecessarily but that's what Johnson calls success

Very interesting. I wonder if it is part of the not listening to experts culture that led both us and the US to react in the ways we have. Only really giving in to the perceived wisdom and lessons learned when it is a little too late? Even the current local lock down in Leicester looks as though it might be a week too late.

It's the only listening to those experts who confirm our bias and disregard the rest that is the problem.

Blimey Mutts that’s a bit strong isn’t it ? Don’t quite see myself as a murderer for not voting labour if that’s ok with you .

But you are complicit.
This.

In my view it came down to a simple choice at the GE. Corbyn or Johnson. The choice to vote for Johnson was to fly in the face of all the evidence of his past record. He is the incompetent and uncaring self-centred narcissist in plain sight. Yes, Corbyn was not an ideal candidate but by any measure he was head and shoulders above Johnson.

If you feel no guilt for what you have enabled you will simply repeat if not double down on your folly when next we vote and this country needs to change it needs to look after its poor not pander to the rich and powerful and if he stood for nothing else Corbyn stood for that.
