I just got Virgin 200 for £28 a month, no phone, no connection fee for 18 months and a £75 Amazon gift card after 6 months by searching for deals... broadbandchoices.co.ukLook on Money Saving Expert for the latest deals and customer rating etc
I don't think anyone does a deal without a landline these days. Just get a deal without any calls included and don't plug a phone in.
Same here. Switched from BT who were fleecing me although Virgin not as stable.if u want cheap & cheerful, I've found vodafone ok
It's a bit more complicated now that FTTP is on the rise and altnets are building their own networks. So you might get virgin which can be fast. Then there is openreach FTTC which is what most providers offer, but then there is FTTP which is again sold by other providers and in this area you will start to see YouFibre in Stockton and CityFibre in Middlesbrough offering high speed connections but depends when they get round to your areaI'm not an expert but from what I understand you can split providers into two categories, Virgin and the rest, as Virgin use different connectivity.
So speeds from all the non Virgin providers will be the same and when comparing deals you need to look at other benefits.
Virgin tend to favour new customers in terms of prices, so bear it in mind because I'd you want to switch back to a non Virgin supplier this will potentially take longer than, for example, Sky to Talk Talk.
Also, I'd you have a big house, or an old one with particularly thick walls, you may want to go with a provider with a better router.
Like the look of that but not available in TS6 as yet?I use a 3 4G router. No wiring, can move it from room to room if required and even take it away from home. I pay £15 pm unlimited.
I only got it as back-up for my unreliable Sky Broadband but its all I use now.
