I'll agree with most of that, but not the first line. If I didn't have people I know that I can trust I'd probably just give up. I'd trust Cath or Bev with my life. They've never let me down and they never will.

Aboout 35 years ago read a leadership book.
A bit corny but it broke down the word ‘respnsibility’ as the ‘ability to respond’.

Have worked out over time using that approach is a bit scary because it puts me in control and I can’t blame others.

When I was forced to change career, my disability officer told me I was too old (40) to train as a counsellor. When I was struggling with my essays at college and Uni, I just thought of him and got knuckled down. He had wanted me to go into a factory.

He probably nicked it from Kierkegaard the Danish theologian.
Strange because years after he told me I used pass Kierkegaard’s grave when taking a short cut through the cemetery in Copenhagen where he’s buried.
