Regarding shopping, we have a community run supermarket about 10 kilometers away, which carries most day to day stuff. Most people will have shopping available within 20 to 30 mins drive. For major shops we travel to either Norsjo at 40km, Arvidsjaur at 60km or Skelleftea at 90km. In these places you can get pretty much anything .... from a speedboat to speciality foods. In the big supermarkets in Skelleftea you can buy anything from camping gear, chainsaws, barbecues to groceries. They're better than any supermarkets in the UK by miles.
sounds like a bullseye prize list
Why are these places so, erm....how do i put this.....'rustically' decorated? and why are they not very well furnished? and not have carpets? Is this why they are so cheap?
They just are not like, well, not like Ikea......perhaps its due to my limited knowledge but i have always thought of Sweden of the home of contemporary living and at the forfront of design.
They're mostly holiday homes used by the Swedes for summer use only.
Will you have rights to residence after Brexit ?
Is the language difficult to muster or is like anywhere , best way to learn is live among the folk ?We don't intend living out there until we've retired, but yes, as far as I know, it's no problem. I doubt we'll ever stay out there year round anyway. Probably just a few months at a time. I might seek asylum
Surely these properties will be priced accordingly?Oh man alive ... I thought about buying this place a few yearts ago when it was for sale for 60 grand. It's still a bargain at £85,000 ... a campsite with cafe/bar, living quarters, service buildings, 13 chalets, on the banks of one of Swedens prime Salmon rivers ... swimming lake, and room for about 50 caravans/motorhomes/tents. Insane value. Thinking of doing it. https://winterfastighetsformedling....Nopif3sz-2UrPDH0ba-4ns5Nip4G6x0Ex1RWJM#images
