In the 70's/80's when you didn't fancy, or want a Parmo, what did you have?

YK Chows. (curried scallops and chips)

Parmosans did exist in the 70's - and it wasn't regular fayre it was a treat.

The Europa - was the first place I knew that did it - Slice of Veal, coated in a parmesan cheese, came with Chips, peas and a garnish on the side. (garnish on the side always made me laugh - 1 lettuce leaf, once medium slice of tomato and a single cucumber slice with half a dozen bits of grated carrot).

the parmesan was damn lovely .
potatoes with potatoes 😁

Late 80's early 90's I used to work at the Linny and after a Saturday night shift i used to go to the pizza shop and get a garlic bread with doner meat on it. Go to my stepdads house and eat it like a sandwich while watching MOTD

Same as you Biggy, always used to end up an Andrews. Mousaka with chips and creamed cabbage!

In the early 80's, KFC did barbecue spare ribs, I used to ride to town on my bmx from Grove Hill to pick some up if we were flush. Don't know why they stopped them, they were gorgeous

I remember when a prawn cøcktail for a starter followed by scamp in a basket was considered the height of fine dining. Banoffee pie to follow probably

I used to know if I had been to the Boro fish bar in my inebriated state by checking my shoes in the morning. If they had beans stuck on them I knew I had called there on the way home.
Called there once in the 70's and as the server went to give me my food a huge cockroach ran across my chips. She picked it up threw it on the floor and said to me " eee whats it like in here" She then passed them to me and got quite annoyed when I wanted fresh ones :oops::ROFLMAO:

YK Chows for scallops and chips with scraps and curry sauce. Always preferred Oliver Street as the curry sauce was nicer for some reason plus you could have a laugh with Peter and his sister.

Didn’t people come home and get the chip pan going? Which would lead to the inevitable fire, either from the chip pan or fag still in mouth setting fire to the sofa when they fell asleep?
