'immediate family' Ukraine

Would our niece and her little girl be considered immediate family?
I've searched but this relationship never comes up - the guys in the family have to stay ( except bro in law who is retired - but would probably stay with his telly).

From the bbc website “Family members eligible to apply for these visas are a spouse or civil partner, an unmarried partner of at least two years, children under the age of 18, a parent if their grandchild is under the age of 18, or adult relatives who are carers”Link

Best of luck to you and your family

Don't know if this is totally relevant but it is another example of little England. I hope this changes as of today.

Family migration visas

You can apply for a family migration visa for free if you’re the family member of a British national who usually lives in Ukraine. Your British national family member must be one of the following:

  • a spouse or civil partner
  • an unmarried partner (you must have been living together in a relationship for at least 2 years)
  • your parent if you are under the age of 18
  • your child under the age of 18
  • an adult relative you provide care for who lives with you due to a medical condition
That’s on the Goverment site Link

Thanks for responses.
I'm guessing wife's sister would be immediate family ,and say HER daughter ( niece) and grand child?
But would niece and little girl be allowed in absence of her sister not leaving bro in law and his telly?
She also does not have a current passport - I see a number to call, but being deaf this is not a lot of use. Grrr

I don't have any advice to offer, I just wanted to say that I wish you the very best of luck with your terrible family situation.

We have been shamefully reticent to help Ukrainian refugees. The "Little Englanders" are still pulling the strings of the Tory Party.

I hope you find a way to get your family to safety. I'm ashamed to be English by this government.
