How do you save video files that you transfer from your phone to PC, then delete the file from the phone

It seems when I transferred a video to my PC from my phone then deleted the file off my phone the video wouldnt play on my PC

The deleted file is stored in my bin for 60 days so enough time to restore

TIA

I think you need to be clearer. Are you transferring a video from an iPhone to an iMac or an Android phone to a PC or something in the middle? The iMac won't have the video if you have transferred to a PC.

If iPhone to iMac is it in your 'Photos' app as if it is when you have deleted it from your phone you would have deleted it from your Mac unless you transferred it from your 'Photos' app on the Mac to another location such as your desktop.

Ifg you have deleted it it should still be in your 'recently deleted' items in 'Photos' - have a look in there.

An Android phone to my Imac PC

Once transferred I can open the video on my PC, as I still have it on my Android, when I then delete the file off my phone it then wont show on my PC, I will go to my delete items on my phone, these are stored for 60 days then deleted, restore the file which will allow me to play the video on to my PC

I thought once the file was transferred to my PC it didnt matter if it was removed from my phone or not

I think once you have the video playing check the file name, then click on "File" in the upper left hand side of your screen and then click "Save" in the drop down options it gives you. You'll also have to choose a destination Folder to keep it in, unless it's going automatically to a "photos" file or similar.
Alternatively you could just click and drag it onto your desktop screen (your basic main screen) and then give it a title of your choice and save it where you wish.
At least that's what I've done on my MacBook.

If I can convert my download videos from http to quicktime player that should be fine, hopefully anyway

Sorted, thanks for helping, I really need to get my head around my iMac, with one M, what I can & cant do
