I'm ready for a few pelters here

Blackburn have had an even bigger collapse since January than we have.

They were 3rd and 6 points clear of 7th on the 1st of January, they're now 8th and 10 points behind 3rd.
Wasn’t that the case with us? Absolutely fantastic for a year then fell away when it mattered?

Hasn't he discovered players that have gone on the greater things (or did I imagine it)? Therefore suited to managing selling clubs, which we are in the bigger scheme of things.

There's only really Adam Armstrong that he's signed and sold for a significant sum whilst he's been there.

Possibly Ben Brereton Diaz after this season, but he forked out £7m on him to begin with and was a massive flop for the first 3 seasons.

Mogga was far from a disaster as manager, and left the club in a far better position than he found it. A solid 7/10 appoinent.

He had two good half seasons followed by collapses. He would have relegated us to league 1 if he'd been left in charge. How on earth do you have him as a solid 7/10?

I loved the bloke as a player and he had decent spells as our manager, he brought in a few good signings who Karanka moulded into our promotion side, but come on.

His 2013 was woeful, if he wasn't Mogga would anyone be crowing for a manager who left us with 5 wins in 33 to come back to lead a promotion charge? A manger who couldn't organise a defence, whose previous two seasons had showed promise then lead to a horrific collapse with seemingly no way to turn it around?

We need to look forward as a club, not back.

Mowbray did well in his time here, looking back in hindsight, he sowed the seeds for AK who nurtured them, but all his teams do well till January/February then form often falls away. It did with Boro, it does with Blackburn. He does not seem to have gotten to the bottom of why, so no from me.
Seen that argument many times
Like Pearson gave Ranieri that Leicester team.

First, I'd say we were certainly heading for relegation in 2011 when he took over and he undoubtedly saved us.

Second, if calendar years count, and 2013 counts as a "relegation year", 2011 borders on being an automatic promotion year: P47, W22, D17, L8 83 points. 79 points was enough for automatic in 07/08 and 12/13 seasons. Given that was largely with WGS's squad, that is outstanding.

Third, I think the squad improved over the course of his tenure. Not only did GL, Friend, AA and Ayala (who Mogga identified, even if he finally joined just after he left), prove to be key signings for the future, bargain basement signings like Ledesma and CArayol proved to be improvements on what WGS left us with.

He stayed too long: most managers do. However, a reign should not be judged just on how it ends, otherwise Bruce Rioch would be remembered as the guy who almost took us back to the third tier.

Have been dipping in and out of the Blackburn messageboard for the last few months and on the whole there is a very strong anti Mowbray feeling there even when they were up in the playoff places. They 100% desperately want him gone now.

The reaction reminded me of the last days when he was with us. The vitriol was high and that final game day at Barnsley at HT and the chorus of booing in his direction was very sad indeed. I would never want him back and it’s fair to say he almost certainly would never come back either.

Was thinking of James Maddison and Callum Wilson, but I can now see the dates were wrong!
