Ikpeazu still can't last a full game, but Jones did well

It's obvious with his muscle-mass he's going to struggle to last a full 90 minutes. He does need to manage his bursts of energy better though. He chased far too many lost causes today, usually balls back to their keeper. I understand the need to press, but he needs to be cleverer about it. I thought he was almost trying too hard to impress today.

That's his problem... Poor decision making.

He seems to me to be the sort of player who needs to be playing matches regularly to keep up his fitness, perhaps due to his build. He would be better off if he saved himself on some of the things he chases, but I wonder if the fact that Warnock has said something the other week about players coming in and not sprinting after the opposition to close down all the time has made him wary of doing this? Would be interesting if anyone who remembers exactly what he said can give their opinion too ...

I thought he struggled today. Couldn't hold the ball up and didn't seem to be closing defenders down like he did earlier on in the season. Could be a fitness issue?

He seemed frustrated judging by his body language.
No way can you be that big and keep it going for 90mins.. unless you’re Sol Bamba. Sol Bamba is part kryptonian powered by the sun!

Everything he does is important.. everything counts. What a guy!

Obviously big guy. Comparisons with Bamba / centre backs somewhat irrelevant based on most strikers doing considerably more running than a CB.

Also most strikers his size are target men types that play with their back to goal and don’t do a lot of running. Viduka / Ibrahimovic esq if you like.

He’s 6’3 and well built but fights for everything and chases lost causes like he’s some sort of Craig Bellamy / Paul Dikov love child.

I thought he was terrible today. Whether that was down to the role he was asked to play or not he just couldn't pass the ball and I've seen milk turn quicker. After his initial impact in the first couple of games he's gone backwards and shouldn't be starting games now IMO.

Probably one of his worst games for us, but I think very few players were good today.

I like him though, I think he'll score 6-8 for us this season.
More if he starts regularly.

Unfortunately he’s not good enough, can only see him being a bit part player like today, when we are down to the bare bones.

Too much Brian Deane / Michael Rickets / Afonso Alves / Mickel Beck / Big bloke up front about him
That’s a bit harsh on Mikkel Beck. He was a very good and underrated player who created a lot of opportunities for his more illustrious partners with his unselfish movement

Yeh I hesitated when I put his name in that list. Not that he was that good but the others .....

maybe it might be something to do with the fact he started pre season and the league season as our number 1 / only senior striker. The minute Sporar comes in, who I like by the way, he’s immediately dropped. Confidence is likely shot to bits. Probably feels like it was a thanks big lad but you can sit on the bench now.

He scored 5 goals in 40 games in Scotland as recent as a couple of years ago. Did anyone expect much different to what we are seeing when we signed him ?

lol how many times did he run felt tilt at the keeper to close him down, however the rest of the team didnt follow the press. Absolute joke the manager needs to take responsibility
That’s spot on. Because we play without tactics, he’s pressing like Roberto Firmino but no-one else is.

Manager’s job to either get the full team pressing or not - presumably not, but then same manager dug him out for not sprinting the other week.

Don’t think he was helped today by positioning either, him and Sporar were in the same spaces centrally, again because we play without tactics and it looked like no-one out there really knew their role. Same with Watmore and Payero, both seemed to be playing number 10 and got in each other’s way.
