If you were a government looking to do business with the UK........ would you trust the UK?

Because I wouldn't. It seems they agreed to the NI protocol purely to whack Corbyn. Then the idea was to renage on it.
Yes - business should be able to look past whatever jerk is in charge - and many do. Like the Orange man bad derangement - " such an awful lout ooh oooh I'm moving to Canada...!" did any of them actually move?

Not fit for office, the country requires better than this.

It's fairly clear the Northern Ireland Protocol (NIP) was negotiated in bad faith by the government and any old deal was quickly waved through so that Brexit could be seen to be done.

Problem is now despite the sausages etc Northern Ireland seems do be doing ok as they remain part of EU in terms of trade and this is not a good look for the government and so it can't let it continue this is why they are screaming that the NIP they signed up to is terrible and they want start all over again. They are doing this because they need to keep conflict with the EU so they have some one to blame as Brexit continues to screw over the economy.

This week I believe the EU decided to call the governments bluff by offering to drop some of the checks on foodstuffs and as expected these were dismissed as not enough.

The EU could offer the government 90%+ of what they have previously been asking for but the government would dismiss this as not enough as they need the conflict to continue.

As I said, a bad faith government, not fit for office

The question isn't about whether people would leave the UK because Johnson is in power, it's about whether foreign governments will trust the current UK government on trade deals, when they think it's OK to renege on them as soon as they feel like it.

Why we should be basing our views on what Cummings says I don't know.
We didn't believe about his eyesight test-drive etc, so why take notice now ?

No I wouldn't trust the UK government BUT it's a good time to strike a trade deal, they'll sign anything put in front of them at the moment, a combination of political desperation and incompetence in play.
